When fear is not justified, the problem may be psychological, psychiatric or, more simply, one of a more or less fatalistic personal attitude towards the serious problems of life.

According to the effect that this fear has on the people’s life, we distinguish two conditions: malaise (vague feeling of discomfort) and true illness.
